The Calgary Horticultural Society is launching spring in February with Think Spring! Our online event is carrying on more than a century of Calgary gardening tradition. Join the Society on online on February 07, 2026, and be inspired for small space gardening. Presentations start with a keynote address at 10:00 am by Laura Peters, Size Doesn’t Matter: Creative Gardening Ideas for Every Little Nook. Laura is an Albertan who has written over 30 gardening books. The three afternoon sessions take the topic a bit further: Wendy Zak addresses, Food Gardening in Containers—Big Fun in a Small Space; Patti Bretin and Phil Pickering are presenting, Waterwise containers – Get the most out of your container plantings with sub-irrigation containers, and Kath Smyth wraps up the day with Small Gardens, Big Attitude.
